Programme in: Kidzone Summary 20142013

The Kids Zone in Red Lion Square is co-ordinated by Claire Gilbert.
NB This is NOT a creche, so parents remain responsible for their children at all times.
The Kidzone is in the Park, in Red Lion Square, but in addition, at the rear of the stage, accessible via small corridor off the foyer or hall, the Green Room doubles as a parent-friendly space. This area has has toilet facilities and a changing table and is open until 6pm, when it becomes a support area for performers at the evening gig. In the evening, it is proposed to make the Bertrand Room available as a parent-co-managed quiet space for those who need to take a break with their (awake or sleeping children).

Claire Gilbert - Music for Children
Come and hear original songs for young children themed mainly about animals and the natural world, healthy vegan eating, funny rhymes and positive living. I will bring a large variety of percussion instruments for children to play along and join in with, some fun props and a play parachute.
Claire qualified as a nursery nurse in 1991 and has worked with young children for 21 years in many different settings. She started writing new songs for children with positive themes about healthy eating, various animals and the natural world and some just for fun! She collaborated with good friend and multi instrumentalist Paul Forrest to make the album "Good Natured Music" in November 2009. It features 12 songs (10 original /2 adapted arranged) all played on real acoustic instruments in folk styles from around the world. We wanted to create real music with educational themes that would capture young children's interest as an alternative to the cheaply made synthesised music that's often made for children these days. The album has since been enjoyed by children all over the world!
