Sebilio Uribe - Native Spirit Festival & Arrival of the Elders
The Native Spirit Film Festival is a grass-roots initiative that has been happening every for the past 5 years. This talk will focus on letting people know that we operate as direct arms with directions from different groups of Indigenous People from the Americas (Abya-Yalla). We will mention the messages that we have been asked to spread during this festival, the variety of ways we hope to achieve this and also speak of the Elders that will be arriving after the film festival has ended.
Sebilio Uribe has been breathing, loving, eating, dancing, reading, writing, learning and listening in the USA, Chile, Germany and the UK for 25 years now - my purpose in England began as aspiring undergraduate academic of Economics & Development Studies at SOAS. I was elected co-President of Finance & Communications there over 2 years and generally tried to help people's dreams come true in whatever way I could whilst helping redefine space and make the resources of the University available to as wide a community as possible. I have been volunteering with the Native Spirit Foundation for 3 spins around the sun and always hope to meet many inspired people throughout my days enjoying movement!
