Red
Lion Square is a residential enclave with a small, beautifully
laid-out park. Last year's diagram is still showing, which
shows the two green circles on either side of a cafe. There
is plenty of fixed seating around the pathways, and this will
be a pleasant place to spend time after the hustle and bustle
of the indoor festival. Stall-holders will normally bring
their own gazebos.
Due
to the raw-only policy inside the main festival, we have been
able to welcome vegan food providers to the square, thus bridging
different traditions, as well as campaign, education and arts
& crafts stalls. The park also provides space for a bicycle
veggie-powered stage, providing ongoing entertainment, and
a large green forum in the western area, where serious issues
can be debated, with green workshops and a kidzone in the
eastern area, closest to Conway Hall - see Programme link
for details.
